FEATURED: The Dunaway Restaurant in Portsmouth, NH
Portsmouth was originally called "Piscataqua"
and was settled in 1630. Later it would be named "Strawbery
Banke" because of plentiful wild strawberries growing beside
the Piscataqua River, a tidal estuary. In 1653 when the town was
incorporated the name "Portsmouth" was adopted in honor
of the colony's founder, John Mason, captain of the port of Portsmouth,
England. Incredibly rich in history. Paul Revere rode here to warn
that the British were coming in 1774.
From to breakfast to lunch, casual dining
to fine dining, you will find some wonderful Portsmouth area restaurants
here (including areas such as Durham, Dover, New Castle, Rye, York
Harbor and more) . Catering services and takeout establishments
are also featured, available for your weddings and parties, corporate
functions, anniversaries, and special events. Portsmouth nightlife,
entertainment and attractions are also included.
